Addiction Treatment In Newport Beach, California

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

Recently approved by the FDA for use in treatment, we use rTMS in treatment for depression and addiction, utilizing it to change baseline brainwaves that may be responsible for the anxiety or depression that leads to these disorders. We offer this premiere and cutting-edge tretament to help those suffering from depression in a process unique and exclusive to Brookside Institute. This addiction and depression treatment, which also affects bloodflow in the brain as well as sensitivity of internal structures allows us to not only treat clients on a therapuetic level, but also at the source of cognitive distortion, an attribute unique to our treatment center. We call this unique Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy MERT.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) For Depression

TMS offers a noninvasive treatment option for a disorder rife with medications with disconcerting side effects, and painful and potentially debilitating treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). With relatively few side effects when treating depression or any other illness): you may experience a headache or slight euphoria for an hour following treatment, TMS is a very attractive treatment option.

MERT: Magno-EEG Resonant Therapy (TMS + EEG)

Magno-EEG Resonant Therapy (MERT) is an innovative treatment procedure using a noninvasive electromagnetic resonant process to tune up or down specific brainwaves. This is a refined process of the traditional Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) that is unique to Brookside Institute NeuroScience Center. Unlike TMS, MERT is precisely calculated based on the individual’s electroencephalography (EEG) to deliver the perfect combination of electromagnetic resonance to bring the brainwave back into balance.

The MERT process begins with a baseline EEG recording to characterize the patient’s individual brainwave signature. The signature is then used to determine the MERT treatment settings, which include output intensity, stimulus frequency, location, duration and maintenance plan to bring the brainwaves back into normal patterns.

Depression Treatment and Addiction Treatment Offered at Brookside Institute is Unique

Whereas other treatment centers may advertise a neuroscience based treatment plan, Brookside Institute is the only treatment center that treats depression and addictions in the on-site Neuroscience Center. Brain wave analysis through the use of a patient's elecroencephalogram (EEG) is conducted on-site and every client has direct access to our electrophysiologist, who designs the treatment unique and matching> to a client's EEG. Additionally, wheras other treatment centers may advertise treatment with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), we are the only center that utilizes an EEG off which to base the treatment.
