Addiction Treatment In Newport Beach, California

Alcohol And Drug Detox Services

Under the supervision of a licensed and board certified physician, Brookside uses state of the art medical and technological expertise for detoxification from most drugs and alcohol.

In cases where opiate detox is required, patients and Brookside's treatment team have the option where and when appropriate to participate in Suboxone assisted medical withdrawal.

Help For Addiction Withdrawal
Among addictive drugs, opiate withdrawal has proven the most difficult. From the heroin addict to the new breed of prescription drug addict, the problems of withdrawal remain the same.

Buprenorphine offers a more comfortable withdrawal from opiates, including oxycontin, heroin and prescription drugs, freeing the patient to focus on other primary issues of recovery.

Subutex and Suboxone are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence.

Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride. This formulation was developed as the initial product. The second medication, Suboxone contains an additional ingredient called naloxone to guard against misuse.

Subutex may be given during the first few days of treatment, while Suboxone is used during the maintenance phase of treatment.

For many addicts, the pain of injury or the fear of medical treatment has been compounded by the painful discomfort of withdrawal. Rather than easing the pain, patients are experiencing intensified pain levels. At Brookside Institute, our treatment team uses the latest in FDA approved medications to ease the pain of withdrawal during detox.
